'The CSU Science Education Community is a community for CSU faculty and K-12  and community college educators participating in reforms preparing future and current elementary and secondary teachers for the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). The Community is part of a CSU systemwide initiative designed to prepare teaches who are world class in both the NGSS and the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics (CCSS-M).

The CSU STEM Education Community is based upon the concept of a “teaching commons” whereby the community of CSU STEM, education, and STEM education faculty advance preparation of future as well as current elementary and secondary teachers for the NGSS through sharing of ideas, practices, information, and resources.'
