The LATin Project is Latin America's Open Textbook Initiative is to publish and make available open textbooks in Spanish and Portuguese for Latin American schools and universities. The LATin Project, modeled after the Connexions(TM) Project, is an online collaborative writing project where teachers, professors, consultants, and experts, as a group community, share their teaching experiences, knowledge, and expertise in writing and publishing high-quality open textbooks that will be affordable and available to both students and educators.

Their first open textbooks were released and made available in January 2014 and their goal is to eventually provide students with open textbooks in all areas/fields of study. The open textbook Creative Common License will be listed under the Latin American country that contributed/published the material content for the open textbook.
