There are many different approaches universities can take to improve student success in foundational courses. The Colorado State University implemented a learning assistant model to support students and faculty in foundational courses. In this webinar, Patti O’Sullivan, Program Manager in Academic Innovation at the University of Mississippi, moderated a conversation with key players at Colorado State University. Tonya Buchan, Institute for Learning and Teaching Instruction Designer, Stacey Clarke, Learning Assistant Program Coordinator, and Deborah Garrity, Professor and Director, Life Sciences Core Curriculum, shared how the program was developed, faculty and student experiences, as well as the real-time changes being implemented in response to COVID-19.
