Lesson Overview:

This lesson plan is designed to show students how the Dnd Beyond organizing system works and how it utilizes data.  This will be accomplished by accessing the website's databases and Character Creation tool to exercise the website's data organization characteristics.  This lesson plan is designed for a 10 minute presentation, but you can allow for students to explore the website on their own if time permits.

Lesson Objectives:

1. Users will learn to navigate the site’s databases and locate specific resources.

2. Users will be able to build a character using the organizing system.

Lesson Outline:

1. Opening Slides: introduce Dnd Beyond as an organizing system and define Dungeons and Dragons.

2. Website: explore the databases and analyze how the organizing system is utilized.

3. Website: create a charcter using the Character Creation tool and examine how the system uses the date entered to create a character.

4. Closing Slides: discuss how the system could be improved and what aspects make it work well.
