The purpose of this OER is to provide students with a simple and straightforward introduction to critical thinking. The material explains what critical thinking is, and provides students with a number of ideas as to how they might apply critical thinking skills to their essays. The material includes a formative assessment activity and provides links to resources that students could use to further improve their critical thinking skills. This resource may be useful for undergraduate students in their first year of academic study, especially those who need some ideas about how to think in more depth about the subjects that they are studying.
