,The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) in partnership with P21 and hundreds of language educators across the U.S., have come up with a blueprint for the skills and approaches  World Languages teachers will need to take to prepare learners to communicate in a second language in the 21st century. The skills map spells out the differences between the way language instruction used to be and the way it must be now if  students are to become truly proficient in the languages that they study.
