As I was looking through this website I found multiple lesson plans that I thought would be useful for teaching students in second grade. One of the lesson plans I found was Dinosaur Paleontology. I found the activity to be a good way to teach students how bone structures reveal information to paleontologists. I although that this activity could be used to teach students how hard it can be to try and figure out what type of bone or who the bone belonged to if remains of other animals were mixed in. Furthermore, the activity could be used to show how paleontologists have to interpret and construct a model of what the animal/ species would have looked like even if they did not have all the pieces of the structure. The lesson plan also contained more information on ways to have students interpret fossils. For instance, have students compare two foot prints. How are they similar or different in relation. If you had a small foot print versus having a large print. What could their foot structure tell you? I also loved looking at this resource for it also provided you with information about clouds. The resource contained lesson plans teachers could use at all grade levels k-6. Although this resource did have a variety of lesson plans, my main concern was how would you know if they follow NGSS standards. I felt that not all lesson plans followed the 5E plan. The teacher would have to go through and make adjustments. Overall, the resource does a good work in providing teacher with lesson ideas.

This website features a plethora of interesting science lessons, both full and mini, with a variety of different student activities and exercises.

Technical Remarks:

My only concern would be determining exactly how many of these lessons are compatible with the CA Science Standards without examining each and every one of the lessons individually?
Time spent reviewing site: I spent about 45 minutes reviewing different lesson plans for various grade levels- everything from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Most of the activities seemed fairly easy for students to understand and for teachers to teach without problems. I think that the Science Jeopardy lesson would especially be useful for just about any grade.

This is a great source of lessons to use. I will use the ice cream making lesson tomorrow for 8th graders.

There's definately a lot of information here. It could be a good resource for a beginning teacher who has no lesson plans of their own.
