The PhET Beer's Law Sim is an elegant and easy-to-use tool for exploring spectrophotometry. It allows you to demonstrate basic principles or derive Beer's Law by examining (wavelength, pathlength, and concentration) in a quantitative fashion. We use the HTML5 version of all the great PhET sims. A learning exercise was developed "Discovering Beer's Law by a Simulation-based Laboratory" to allow students in General Chemistry for Engineers and General Chemistry II Laboratory to investigate and discover Beer's Law. This was developed to handle online migration due to Covid-19.
