A simulated experiment based on the Spectronic 20 Spectrophotometer. User can mix standard solutions of red and blue dues with water and operate the spectrophotometer to obtain transmittance/absorbance in the visible range. Includes an unknown concentration of red or blue dye, and an unknown mixture of the two.

The simulation is quite impressive. The background material is appropriate and well explained. The simulation can be used as a pre-lab exercise for a spectrophotometric experiment in a quantitative analysis lab.
