This video was recorded at MIT World Series - IdeaStream Symposium 2003. Governor Mitt Romney delivered the keynote address at the Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation's first IdeasStream Symposium. In his talk, he underscored the value of the Deshpande Center's goal to accelerate the pace of taking research from the laboratory to the marketplace. He talked about his own business philosophies, and stressed the need for businesses to stay focused, and not make rash decisions in the face of economic challenge. He also shared a remarkable story of building the speed skating oval for the 2002 Olympics, a project with a $300 million price tag, and a $35 million budget.
