Good Law from Open Data

This video was recorded at European Data Forum (EDF), Dublin 2013. In the context of the recent European Legislation Identifier initiative and new EU e-Law Linked Open Data taskforce, this presentation will survey the opportunities of Linked Open Data to legislative and legal compliance data. What does it mean to talk about legislation as data? How can open data work as an operating model for the public sector to enable this? Where and how do Linked Data standards fit? What are the commercial opportunities for use and exploitation of law as data? This presentation will showcase recent projects and explore the Europe wide possibilities and benefits from Linked Open Legislation Data.
