Prispevek poskuša poiskati nekaj razlogov za to, zakaj je sodobni kulturni kontekst nenaklonjen razvijanju znanstvene kulture, se pravi temu, da bi laiki poskušali razumeti nova dognanja o realnem svetu in na tem temelju spreminjati svoja prepričanja. This essay deals with the contemporary cultural context of the dissemination of scientific culture. Starting with the fact that people generally are not keen to accept scientific knowledge as a means to expand and change their current beliefs, I try to pinpoint a few causes of such a situation.
