Once the drop is released, pushing the Disconect (sp?) button turns on the
external field. Once the field is found that causes the drop to become
suspended, the mass/charge ratio can be calculated. I found this applet to be a
little cumbersome. However, the accompanying explanation (in Spanish) should
be very helpful. One problem with this applet is that it covers a topic that I
find few students have difficulty with in the first place.
