I initially reviewed this applet for a classical mechanics class. The applet
clearly displays fundamental relationships between wave frequencies and their
vibrational effects on particles. It is simple to use, and, after reading the
short explanations, easy to understand. It is a positive addition to any
lecture following the discussion of oscillations that may incorporate the idea
of beats.
