Bookshare® is an online library of digital books for people with print disabilities.  It operates under an exception to U.S. copyright law which allows copyrighted digital books to be made available to people with qualifying disabilities.  Currently fewer than five percent of the books needed by people with print disabilities are available in accessible formats such as digital text or digital Braille.  Bookshare®'s goal is to make it possible for people with print disabilities to obtain a broad spectrum of print materials and to increase the quantity and timely availability of books and newspapers in accessible formats.  Membership required and costs involved.
