" Lecturas Paso a Paso" This site which is also available through the online services "Centro Virtual Cervantes " of the Instituto Cervantes located in New York, offers reading selections on the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Highlights of this interactive site include: 1. Pre-reading motivational activities to tap the readers' interest 2. Texts that can be downloaded and printed to facilitate reading 3. Engaging exercises to check comprehension and provide additional practice in the written language 4. Immediate feedback of written work 5. Pop-up windows which include summaries of the texts, background information re: the authors, periods, major themes, clarification of lexical items, visuals, etc. David Kent recently visited this site and added the following comments: "The site is very well laid out and seems pedagogically sound from a design point of view. I was impressed with what seems to be high production value... the site provides a pleasant experience... Students will want to stay longer and visit again." "For those, however, teaching in the Commmunity Colleges, "even the first level of "Lecturas Paso a Paso" may be too difficult."
