This is a great example for students to see what a simple random sample looks like in real life. It would give students experience in actual survey sampling. It is great for a one-hour lab session on survey sampling. This material is not licensed under Creative Commons, so it probably is not entirely open access. The link to the website and its screenshot are not updated but if you Google “wake county real estate”, it will take you to the current website. The assignment is in a .pdf document, and Minitab is used as the statistical software. It is not easily adaptable if other software is being used—you’ll just have to make a new document.
