This unit will highlight non-pharmacologic methods of primary prevention and treatment of insulin resistance and diabetes type 2. Discussion will focus on both conventional and alternative approaches, many of which can be combined to provide optimal care for patients. This module came about after curriculum discussions with current and former residents who had many interested patients but lacked a resource to advise them.   As an overview, the unit will provide you with a background understanding of possible therapies. It may later be useful as a reference when seeing patients interested in an integrative approach.
