Eyes On The Bay
Eyes on the Bay is a comprehensive Web site maintained by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources that utilizes new monitoring technologies to provide a better picture of the health of the Chesapeake and Coastal Bays and assess progress in meeting Chesapeake 2000 goals. There is real-time data, including salinity, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, water clarity, algal levels and chlorophyll concentrations. This site also provides extensive, easy-to-understand background material to help the public understand why the data is relevant, how to interpret it, and what Maryland is doing to restore the health of the Bays and their tributaries. The site also contains links to to other Chesapeake Bay agencies.
