Abstract This article aims to delve deeper into the transnational identity shared inonline emotions, which is embodied in the tweets in a youth-led environmental move-ment’s organisation. Through case studies from the Twitter account of the Indonesiancivic environmentalism Backsilmove, a Greenpeace’s affiliated organisation basedin Indonesia, this study explores the circulation of globalised transnational iden-tity of activism, reflecting the meaning of grievance and contentions demonstratedin selected tweets from the Twitter handle of the organisation. This original studyformulates, the environmental movement campaigns heralded by Backsilmove hasresonated Greenpeace’s transnational repertoire, which was presented in the effec-tiveness of its cyber-power by using Twitter to publicise its radical act of rescuing theurban forest and the capabilities of the activists to express their dissent as governmentplans to commercialise the forest unravelled
