This is a discussion board assignment that invites students to reflect on Jiddu Krishnamurti's conception of peace, present their understanding of it [based on watching two or three specific YouTube videos] and to engage with one another constructively.

This assignment is best used prior to the class discussion and serves to 

1. increase individual student engagement with Krishnamurti's approach prior to the class discussion, 

2. provide a relatively low-stakes opportunity for students to express, in writing or by recording themselves, their understanding of a conception of peace that is likely to differ from what they may take peace to be, 

3. provide an opportunity for students to practice how to engage constructively with one another, in a low-stress environment [i.e., not in class],

4. enable the instructor to identify aspects of the material that students struggle with, which can inform class discussion,

5. enable the instructor to identify student contributions that are worth integrating in the class discussion [especially from students who otherwise don't participate as much in class].
