This online tool simulates how allele and genotype frequencies respond to natural selection, genetic drift (including population bottlenecks), mutation, migration, inbreeding, and assortative mating.

The simulator in this tool is based on the Hardy-Weinberg model and tracks the frequency of one allele and three genotypes in a two-allele system. Students can use the simulator to explore many different scenarios that affect the model’s parameters. The tool also provides background information on the biological concepts and terms in the model.
