The Mending Broken Hearts (MBH) project is a Heart and Stroke Foundation (HSF) and Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) funded Research Chair (Early Career) Indigenous Women’s Heart and Brain Health awarded to Dr. Bernice Downey at McMaster University. With an overarching goal of illuminating existing disparity that Indigenous women face in the treatment and diagnosis of cardiovascular disease and stroke (CVD/s), this study aims to educate health care practitioners through the centering of Indigenous women’s voice.
