| Social Inclusion Issues |
The activity is designed to promote the inclusion of both non-Italian-speaking students and learning-disorder students. Thanks to the use of technology and the collaborative discussion technique, the aim is to overcome any language barrier of foreign students and to compensate for the areas of difficulty of the students with learning disorders. Inclusion assetsThis design was created with great attention to the inclusion of students with special needs. It is based on a cooperative approach: the pupils work in heterogeneous groups, in which each one assumes his or her own responsibility, above all that of helping the weakest. In each group, foreign students, who have not yet acquired linguistic competence in Italian, will be placed in pairs with peers of the same nationality but with greater fluency in Italian, to be supported in their communication with the rest of the group.Furthermore, foreign students will be able to carry out research in their mother tongue, communicate the results and participate in the group discussion with the help of a classmate with greater linguistic skills.Another strong point, regarding inclusion, is the use of technology in all phases of the project, which is certainly an advantage for students with learning disorders, as it allows readability of the materials and the use of multiple communication channels (visual, auditory, etc.), compensating for any reading/writing deficits. We have also included, within the tasks, an activity of inventing a slogan, which we think is motivating and fun; in fact, these activities help to create a relaxed and playful atmosphere that certainly favours inclusion. All the material used by the teachers is made accessible to all students thanks to the use of technology in all its forms. |
