This animated simulation of a first dental appointment was engaging for learners, contained realistic content, and provided detailed explanations of assessment data choice options. The assessment phase was divided into appropriate stages, each with sufficient detail and user options. The answer meter on the right hand side is helpful when answering questions to provide students with instant feedback on correct and incorrect responses. The scoring at the end of each assessment section is slightly confusing because it does not state what the score is out of (i.e. 82/100). The clinical findings are stated clearly and concisely making it easy for the learner to remember. The use of a panoramic radiograph is an excellent visual and an important assessment tool for visualizing the patient case. The bar graph at the end of the simulation providing a grade /100 for each assessment phase allows the learner to review areas where they excel and areas they may like to review. Clicking on each section of the graph provides users with explanation of each multiple choice answer as to why or why not it should be included in the patient assessment. Overall, this simulation is an excellent formative feedback activity for students.
