This course is a guide for OER specialists who are looking to establish a workflow, locate openly licensed resources, create accessible content, and produce openly licensed materials--especially textbooks--in an organized format.

This OER specialist course will:

1. Introduce OER
2. Detail the workflow of OER specialists at College of the Canyons
3. Review open licenses

OER materials (including ZTC or Zero Textbook Cost materials) are used by instructors hoping to eliminate textbook and other educational costs in their courses. There are several ways in which OER materials are licensed.

The workflow modules reflect the practices of OER specialists at College of the Canyons. The order in which processes are listed is a suggestion and each OER specialist should customize their own methods and workflow in order to accommodate the unique needs of their campus' instructors.
