This virtual activity provides an introduction to the Coordinated School Health Program and includes additional information about the Center for Disease Control expansion on the model with Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC). The intended audience is teacher health education majors. Users are able to engage in the Knowledge Check area to check their understanding of the content. A score of 95% or above allows users to review a certificate of completion at the very end of the lesson after the references. Users may re-take the Knowledge Check questions to achieve mastery of the content.

After active participation, the engaged learner will

1.Define the Coordinated School Health Program.

2.Explain the elaboration of the CSHP model by CDC to The Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child model.

3.Explain the 8 components of the Coordinated School Health Program.

4.List the ideal members of a school health advisory council.

 5.Explain why a school health program is important.

 6.Identify written school health policies and the rationale for the policies.

 7.Explain the meaning of a healthy school environment.

 8.Identify the eight National Health Education Standards.

9. Describe the health teacher's role in school health education.
