This lesson/small unit overview that introduces how to help students not only understand how to tell time, but how to apply it to their everyday lives.  My goals for teaching my students how to tell time were to have them also able to set goals and increase their stamina for independent work.  In, addition, I also want them to increase their fluency in basic math facts with their newfound understanding of the value of a minute.  The sole purpose was to take the concept of telling time as a second grade standard and apply it to real life situations that will increase success for a second grade student.
