This is a small collection of short stories that are intended for use in teaching Spanish. The book is divided into two sections, the first using shorter stories with more basic language while the second is decidely more complicated. Each section provides links within the ebook to notes with English translations of difficult phrases.
The book is fairly short, and does not provide any secondary material other than the footnotes. No discussion questions are provided, nor is there any sense of how reading this material would fit within a larger language learning setting. While the stories themselves may be of some interest to learners, it seems likely that teachers looking for a literary supplement to language instruciton could find better examples that correspond more directly to the units they are teaching.
Technical Remarks:
The format of the ebook is very nice. The links to footnotes are seamless.
This ebook is offered through the web site Lulu.com. Downloading the book requires setting up a username and password and "purchasing" the book although it has no cost. After "checkout," there is a wait time before the book is available. This process seems overly complicated for a free resource.
