Content Analysis of Online Communications in MERLOT

The research report examined the communications for MERLOT Online Discipline Communities and was conducted to develop a model of and assess the functioning of the communications. The assessment of online community functioning will provide the MERLOT administrative team design guidelines for its development of online community communication tools. An analysis of the online communications was conducted by The Center for Usability in Design and Assessment (CUDA) at CSU, Long Beach. The communications assessed the listserv communications, threaded discussions, and posted documents between January and June 2000. Report distributed September 2000.
