Being involved with a lap top program myself I believe it is a very good idea to teach students the basics of not only tecchnology (like email or google docs) but also the basics of communication itself.  This lesson clearly outlines the basics of email and the expectations of a teacher when using it in a middle school setting.  It looks like a great lesson for just htis purpose.  Also, i love all the "in Plain English" videos and alwasy enjoy seeing them embedded into lessons.

This lesson looks like a great introduction to gmail. Not only for Middle school students, but for anyone beginning to use google as a collaborative and productive platform. By incorporative the Google Doc in Plain English video, this allows for variety within the lesson as well as increases the egagement factor. Use of "entertainment" methods are great for students. Very complete lesson.

no issues

This is a great lesson on getting students aquainted with gmail and google. I am just figuring out myself what kind of useful tools that google offers, and to introduce middle school students to it is a great idea. By the time they are in high school they will be experts.
