Configure Audacity to export .mp3 files

We will see how to export .mp3 files, but before doing so, you must complete Audacity installation. Installing Audacity is a two-step procedure. First you download and install the program, then you download an .mp3 encoding program, and tell Audacity where the encoder is located in storage. (The encoder is called LAME). Once you do that, you can export .mp3 files. This presentation shows how to do the second step – downloading and locating the .mp3 encoder. There is no technical reason fro this inconvenient extra step, it is due to a legal licensing restriction on the .mp3 compression software. We will conclude with a discussion of metadata and the metadata you can optionally supply for an .mp3 file.
