A free step by step online Sanskrit program that makes the learning of the Sanskrit language "easy and freely available to everybody who desires to learn it." The material consists primarily of a series of lessons explained in English and designed to take the learner from "I do not know a word of Sanskrit" to " I can't believe that I can decipher this on my own!" The lessons include systematic grammar presentations, new vocabulary and practice exercises. In addition to the comprehensive sequence of short and clear lessons, other significant program components are the Varnamala (a script tutorial) and a grammar supplement.
