"The Texas Tech Medcast is a podcast for medical residents, medical students, practicing physicians, and others involved in medical education and high quality, patient-centered primary care." "This episode illustrates the use of the Mini Mental State Exam (MMSE), a brief instrument useful for assessing mental status in the elderly.

Learning Objectives: the physician audience should be able to:  Identify at least 3 clinical purposes of the MMSE; List the benefits and limitations of using the MMSE to assess an elderly patient; Be able to administer and score the MMSE; and Describe implications of the MMSE for treatment decisions
