In 1955, critic and philosopher Eli Siegel wrote 15 Questions about the nature of beauty in the visual arts, published by the Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism. These questions, and this way of looking critically at art, are the basis of the Terrain Gallery in SoHo, New York City.
