This site describes the tremendously successful The Aesthetic Realism Teaching Method, which has been used for over 40 years in having students in K-12 classrooms learn about every subject—including reading, science, history, art, mathematics, and grammar—with real success and pleasure. The Aesthetic Realism method, which teachers can learn in a bi-weekly workshop, is based on this principle, stated by educator Eli Siegel—"The world, art, and self explain each other: each is the aesthetic oneness of opposites." When teachers can show their students that the subjects they study are deeply related to their own lives through the opposites—such as sameness and difference, one and many, continuity and change—these young people love learning, and become kinder, including to persons of different backgrounds from their own.
