This extensive report, from the National Leadership Council for Liberal Education and America’s Promise, is a compendium on ways in which to engage (what are considered) "Twenty First Century Realities."  These include civic, intercultural, and ethical learning, as well as applying student learning to complex problems.  The report suggests that essential learning outcomes for the 21st century include:  (1) knowledge of human cultures and the physical and natural world; (2) Intellectual and practical skills; (3) personal and social responsibility; (4) and integrative learning.  The discussion concludes discussing ways in which to achieve these outcomes.
