An interactive introduction to water disinfection approaches for environmental engineering students. The learning objectives for the module are to (1) predict the properties of a good disinfectant, (2) describe technologies used to disinfect water and wastewater, (3) describe disinfection mechanisms by various technologies, and (4) select appropriate disinfection mechanisms for various waterborne pathogens. Imbeded in the module are multiple quizzes and interactive features to keep students engaged.
