This web-based resource teaches learners how to recognize and pronounce the letters of the Russian alphabet and how to write the letters in Russian cursive script.  The resource also teaches students the fundamental principles of Russian pronunciation:  distinguishing and pronouncing hard/soft consonants, voiced/voiceless consonants, and the reduction of unstressed vowels.  The program works on both Mac and Windows computers with any browser, featuring mp3 sound files to demonstrate pronunciation (with audio provided by male and female native speakers) and mp4 movie files to demonstrate how the letters of the cursive alphabet are written.  The program is accessible in a learning system structure allowing teachers to monitor student work on the progress. It can be used with any first-year textbook at the high school or college level as well as by independent learners working outside of a formal classroom structure.
