This guide on plagiarism for international students was developed using scholarly literature and research on the topic of international students and plagiarism/academic dishonesty. The guide attempts to account for the factors that may play a role in why international students plagiarize (i.e. cultural, peer-pressure, misconceptions etc.). The guide is unique because it also incorporates a page dedicated to providing international students information on what happens if one is caught plagiarizing (intentionally or unintentionally). This information is usually very dense, fragmented, difficult to find and understand. Therefore, the information has been simplified and condensed, while maintaining the integrity of the information, in an effort to make it user-friendly for international students.
