From day one, even before its opening in 1998, the Hawaii Convention Center has integrated sustainability, conservation and respect for the environment in all aspects of its planning and operations.The Hawaii Convention Center been recognized by the City and County of Honolulu for reducing the impact of waste on our environment through extensive recycling, and in 2013, the State of Hawaii honored the Convention Center with the Green Event Award for its commitment to environmental responsibility.
