The city of Grand Rapids uses a Quadruple Bottom Line (QBL) approach, which is similar to the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) approach used by many but is expanded to include Governmental Accountability. So, Grand Rapids measures sustainability using (1) Environmental Quality, (2) Social Responsibility, (3) Economic Prosperity, and (4) Governmental Accountability. They say they accomplish this by considering how policies, plans and programs impact: People, Planet, Prosperity.

Also found on this page is reports and documents, city sustainability announcements, awards, the city’s understanding of sustainability, information on the Sustainability Advisory Committee created in 2018, and more.
