The Chemistry LibreTexts library is a principal hub of the LibreTexts project, which is a multi-institutional collaborative venture to develop the next generation of open-access texts to improve postsecondary education at all levels of higher learning. The LibreTexts approach is highly collaborative where an Open Access textbook environment is under constant revision by students, faculty, and outside experts to supplant conventional paper-based books.  

LibreTexts are custom developed for individual instructors/classes and schools. The Modules in the Core supplement the LibreTexts.

Mountain View College is a community college that is part of the Dallas County Community College District that is located in the Western Park, Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas. The school opened its doors in 1970 and features an enrollment of about 10,000 credit students and another 9,000 continuing education students.

The objective of the study of a life and physical sciences component of the core curriculum is the focus on describing, explaining, and predicting natural phenomena using scientific method.  Courses involve the understanding of interactions among natural phenomena and the implications of scientific principles on the physical world and on human experiences.
