Graphs in the Media

This lesson allows students to analyze how data is graphically represented. The exercise asks the class to gather data from the National Center for Health Statistics website, then create graphical representations of that data. Students will learn to determine an appropriate type of graphical representation for a given data set based on its characteristics. Supplementary student materials are available for download here (sixth row, second column of table).
