National Association of Home Inspectors
The nonprofit National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI) was created in 1987 to help support and educate those in the industry and to provide standards of practice and serve as an authoritative source of information on home inspection for the general public. Their web site contains a nice array of resources for those in the profession as well as students and teachers. Links to NAHI chapters are provided, arranged by state, as well as information about membership. For consumers visiting the site, there is a referral service as well as various resources about consumer product safety, the NAHI Code of Ethics and much more. There is also an extensive list of material in the resource library section related to home inspection, much of which has material that could be incorporated into classroom settings. The resource library is divided into sections, including Building Codes, Chimney Inspection, Electrical, Hardboard Siding as well as a variety of other topics.
