In this quick and easy activity and/or demonstration, learners illustrate the effect of the weight of air over our heads. Since we do not typically feel atmospheric pressure, this activity allows learners to explore the effect of air pressure on two different types of paper. In a simple test, learners will compare the ease of lifting printer paper versus newspaper. This resource includes information about atmospheric pressure, water pressure, and how pressure relates to wind and thunderstorm safety.
