This is a 7-day multimedia unit for middle school science that explores the behavior of light, how light travels, and its special properties. Students will gain understanding that light is much more than what we perceive with our eyes; it is part of a vast spectrum that includes ultraviolet radiation, infrared, x-ray, radio waves, and gamma rays. They will get hands-on exposure to reflection, refraction, and color, and experiment to verify the connection between wavelength and frequency. All resources in this unit are aligned to AAAS <i>Benchmarks for Science Literacy</i>.
