Yaw System Introduction
This module, produced by the Wind Technician TV project from Highland Community College, introduces students to yaw systems. This module consists of seven lessons and an assembly practice section. The lessons are: Yaw System Introduction, Yaw Mechanical, Yaw Brake Hydraulic System, Yaw System Controls Parts 1 and 2, Yaw Sensor Operation, and Reduction Gearbox Operation. Each lesson has a video or animation to explain the concepts involved, and a skill check feature to assess learning and ensure student grasp the concepts before moving on. The Assembly Practice section contains two videos which illustrate to students how to install a yaw ring and drive and break assembly. A PDF accompanies each lesson, with pertinent images and notes from the video or animation.
