Workshop Physics

Workshop Physics

Workshop Physics is an activity-based approach to teaching calculus-based introductory physics in which traditional lectures are replaced by student investigation. Students do experiments in which they make predictions as well as observations and analysis; they perform guided derivations of major concepts; and they use computer tools to develop mathematical models. All the activities and materials needed for a two-semester course are available. Workshop Physics was developed and class-tested by Priscilla Laws of Dickinson College and coworkers.
