Tux Paint

Tux Paint is a free, award winning, open source drawing program for children ages 3 to 12. Tux Paint is used in schools around the world as a computer literacy drawing activity. It combines an easy-to-use interface, fun sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who guides children as they use the program.

I share this free open source material with all my elementary student teachers every semester. The student teachers have a good time with it and often create lessons so their PreK-elementary students can use Tux Paint. They like the slideshow feature which comes in handy for displaying art at school events like Open House and Education Week.
